An open letter to "photographers"

Photography seems to be everyone's interest now a days. Whether I like it or not, more & more kids are getting slrs and calling themselves "photographers". Now I really don't give a fuck that kids are buying $1,000 gear and taking shitty pictures because I know that once the hype dies for them so will their "love" for photography. I don't really have a problem with them. I do however got a bone to pick with some of you amateur elitist.

First and foremost, JUST BECAUSE YOU "DON'T" USE PHOTOSHOP DOESN'T MAKE YOU A "REALLY GOOD" PHOTOGRAPHER. Seriously, no one gives a shit that your whack ass pictures weren't "edited". That's probably why they're underexposed, cloudy, & shitty over all. Some of the best photographers in the world touch their photos up. That's probably the reason their shit looks so damn good and why they get PAID to shoot. Do I use photoshop? Yea I do but its not like my entire picture was created in photoshop. So to all you "too good" for photoshop kids, get overself and get bent. You probably process your pictures anyway (adjusting exposure, levels, & saturation is editing ya fucks) However those of you who OD on the processing, you make my eyes hurt. please stop.

Second, unless someone asks you please please please do not try to EDUCATE people on photography. Just cuz you know about shutter speeds and apatures and how to sync flashes doesn't make you hot shit. Anyone could look that shit up in 10 seconds. So please don't post "lessons" on your little MySpace blog & FB notes.

Now this letter isn't to hate on anyone whose getting into photography. If you really really love it then pursue it, improve, & lets collab! This letter is meant for the kids who just got an slr and all of the sudden think they're hot shit with a camera who hate on everyone. Am I the best photographer? nahh not by a long shot but I definitely try to keep my ego in check. I suggest you "professional" photographers do the same.

Oh and to those on the hype, I'm gonna laugh at you when you realize you dropped $1,000 on camera that is just collecting dust. CHURRCHHHH
